Playmore vs MATCHi
MATCHi is the booking platform many Scandinavian racket clubs grew up with: a club system plus a player app with a large Nordic audience. Playmore is club software first. Here is how the two compare on cost, payments and features, using MATCHi's own published terms and help centre.
you want the booking experience, the payment rules and the player relationship to belong to your club, with prepayment enforced on every booking and one system for courts, classes, leagues and access control.
your players already book on MATCHi, especially in Sweden or Norway, and being listed in an app they use every week matters more to you than a service fee they pay on top of your price in those markets.

Price: three layers, none of them published
MATCHi does not publish its club prices. Its general terms describe what a club pays: a fixed monthly or annual SaaS fee, licence fees for add-ons such as lighting and entry, a transaction fee on every booking or purchase paid through MATCHi, and an administrative fee for each statement or payout. The transaction fee can be fixed, a percentage, or both, and bookings made through the widget or the API are charged the same way. You will only see the numbers in your offer.
The public terms also let MATCHi raise all prices once a year by 2% plus the previous year's increase in the Swedish consumer price index, and adjust the transaction fee if its payment provider's costs go up.
On top of that, in eight markets players pay MATCHi a 4% service fee on court and activity bookings, with a floor and a cap per country — 3 to 15 SEK in Sweden, 5 to 30 NOK in Norway, 2.5 to 12.5 DKK in Denmark, €0.30 to €1.80 in Belgium and the Netherlands. It is collected by MATCHi, not your club, it is not refunded when a player cancels (unless the club chooses a full refund), and a venue cannot switch it off. Memberships, value cards, punch cards and form payments carry no service fee.
When you compare quotes, add the layers together: subscription, add-on licences, the fee on each payment, and what your players pay on top.
Who owns the player relationship
MATCHi's terms describe the service as a marketplace as well as club administration: players hold a MATCHi account under MATCHi's own user terms, and in the app your club appears alongside other venues nearby. For data handled on the club's behalf, the club's agreement makes the club the data controller and MATCHi the processor.
That is the usual marketplace trade-off: an audience in exchange for sharing the customer and the checkout. With Playmore, players book through your club's page in the app or on your own website, and your booking rules, prices and communication stay under your control.
Where MATCHi is strong
Reach in the Nordics. matchi.se lists 1,717 active venues and 18,703 bookable courts, and the company counts more than 3,000 venues in its wider network. The player app is rated 4.7 from about 24,600 ratings in the Swedish App Store and 4.7 from about 2,400 in Norway; it scores lower elsewhere (3.3 from 102 ratings in the UK App Store, 3.6 from 3,800 reviews on Google Play).
Local payments are built in — Swish in Sweden, Vipps in Norway — and leagues and padel tournaments come from MATCHi's own Backhandsmash and Padelboard. If your players already book on MATCHi every week, that familiarity is a real reason to stay.
The company behind it
MATCHi is based in Gothenburg. In March 2026 it joined forces with Eversports, the Austrian booking platform for studios and sports facilities; both are backed by the investment firm Verdane, which is Eversports' majority owner. According to the announcement the combined group connects more than 9,000 facilities in Europe, MATCHi continues to develop racket-sport-specific products under its own name, and Daniel Ekman leads the MATCHi Group.
Switching
Under MATCHi's general terms the agreement runs until further notice with three months' notice on both sides, unless you signed a fixed period — usually 12 to 36 months — which renews for the same length unless you give three months' notice. Check your end date before you plan the move, export your customer and membership lists first, and keep your court calendar running in parallel for a week. We help with the import and the setup during onboarding.
